Euro 6 Fleet Replacement

It’s a well known fact that diesel engines emit soot which is detrimental to our health.

In 2008 the Mayor of London introduced a Low Emission Zone to discourage older trucks traveling into the city to improve air quality. Since then, emission standards have become more stringent and vehicles not meeting the LEZ Standards have to pay a daily charge (£200-£300 per day). Following it’s success, more cities are now introducing Clean Air Zones with daily penalties.

Portsmouth Clean Air Zone

Portsmouth City Council have introduced a CAZ with enforcement starting later this year. This will affect Large Goods Vehicles, Buses, Coaches and Taxi’s travelling to the Isle of Wight via the Portsmouth.

We currently have two compliant HGV’s and over the next 6-12 months we will be upgrading the remaining fleet to comply with the Euro 6 emissions. This will help improve air quality and avoid the daily charges being passed on to our clients.

At the same time we will also be installing side motion sensors to detect cyclists/pedestrians & blind spot/reverse cameras to increase public safety.
